30 Days of Biking Day ???

This was from a ride I took last Sunday. Every ride since then has been in the dark so… no nice pictures to share. At first I was trying to figure out how to take this shot so it looked like my bike was IN the picture. I would have needed a kickstand and to lay down on the ground to get the right angle so I gave up. I’m such a quitter… the one thing my mom wanted me NOT to be. But I started early… I hated girl scouts. Mostly because I was pretty sure all the other girl scouts hated me. If I hadn’t quit girl scouts when I was 7, I probably would have gotten this picture right.

Anyhoo. It was a beeyouteeful day. Headed in to the East even though the wind was at my back which mean I would eventually have to face the music and head in to it to get home. For some reason I wanted to go take some pictures at the dry dock. I’m not so much a boat person but I have a major fascination with old rusted metal and junk. It must have come from having a farm equipment graveyard as an early playground. I got lots of cool pictures at the dry dock and some nice ones of the Lock in Lyons. I think it’s lock 27 but I wasn’t paying close attention.

30 Days of Biking: Day 4

From April 2010

Lock 28 B, where I realized I left my lock at home and also didn’t have as much time as I thought I had.

I was planning (again) to ride out to Zurich bog, go for a hike and ride back. I dawdled in the morning though. So by the time I got to 28 B I decided to ride the canal path to Palmyra and then take back roads home. It was a perfect morning for riding. The air was slightly cool and the sun was out. Half the world was in church so they weren’t trying to run me down on the road.
There were only a few people fishing in the canal. I don’t know it’s because it was Easter, or Sunday, or because the canal is only partially full.

I almost forgot. This was 22 miles. ONly one more 22+ mile ride to reach my next eddington number.
